The film saw Mammootty reprising the dual roles of inspector Balram and underworld don Tharadas. Though both 'Inspector Balram' and 'Athirathram' were big blockbusters with the signature styles and mannerisms of its heroes well-accepted by the then audience, the mashup somehow miserably failed to deliver.

But, that has not prevented Shaji Kailas from his upcoming character collision venture titled 'The King and the Commissioner.' However, this time Mammootty's Collector Joseph Alex is collabrating with Suresh Gopi's macho cop Bharat Chandran.
Joseph who famously defined India with “sense, sensibility and sensitivity” and Bharat Chandran with his extremely emphatic “just remember that,” had made their way to people's heart. Expectations naturally soar high as the firebrand duo team up again. The film is expected to hit screens November.
